Photoreportage avec le CIP

Photoreportage de Rafaël Grand, 1ere année. Il a suivi Julien Michaud, sportif tétraplégique jouant du Tennis de Table Fauteuil, lors de sessions d’entrainement avec son coach Joffrey Nizan au gymnase de Saint-Laurent de la Salanque, et lors de séances de soins au centre Performe dans le but de se préparer à concourir aux Jeux Paralympique de Paris 2024.

Julien fait le point avec son coach Jofferey Nizan sur l’entrainement du jour, les points à améliorer et l’intensité de l’exercice. Ce jour-là, le coach lui a demandé de redoubler d’efforts après la dernière session d’entrainement qui était moyenne.
Tétraplégique, Julien doit s’adapter afin de pouvoir jouer au tennis de table. Il attache sa raquette à sa main droite immobilisée à défaut de pouvoir la tenir et il se sert de sa main gauche valide pour bouger son fauteuil.
Afin de ne pas avoir à récupérer la balle après chaque échange, Joffrey met à disposition un bac de balle pour que l’entrainement soit plus rapide et ininterrompu.
Comme au tennis de table classique, chaque échange compte étant donné qu’il n’y a pas de de second service et très peu de temps de pause.
Même s’il est doué en tennis de table fauteuil simple, c’est en double que Julien excelle puisqu’il peut se concentrer sur sa partie de la table à défendre sans avoir à trop se déplacer pour réceptionner la balle.
Malgré les apparences, Julien est très autonome puisqu’il est capable de conduire sa voiture seul grâce à une pince attachée à sa main droite qui lui permet de tourner le volant et des boutons spéciaux qui contrôlent les pédales ainsi que les vitesse du véhicule.
C’est au centre Paramédical du Sport Perfome à Sainte-Marie que Julien se rend entre ses entrainement et ses compétitions quotidiennes pour être soigné et rééduqué par des kinésithérapeutes et des ostéopathes comme Jean-Michel Grand dans le cas présent.
Julien Michaud reçoit également le suivi du préparateur physique Benoit Albert qui lui a préparé un programme adapté à sa condition et au sport qu’il pratique.
